Schedule of Programs


Programs will take place in the Library's Meeting Room from 10:30am to 11:30am. The programs are open to children going into 1st through 6th grades.  Children must sign up for the Summer Reading Program to attend any of the weekly programs. Attendance is not mandatory and is free of cost.

June 7th - Potions, Motions and Emotions - Presented by: Song Solutions with Mark Sheppard

June 14th - Art Brings Us Together - Presented by: Stark Museum of Art

June 21st - Recycle Warriors - Presented by: Shangri-La Botanical Gardens

June 28th - Growing Together - Presented by: Texas A&M Agrilife Extention

July 5th - Family Movie Event - Showings at 10:30 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.

July 12th - Science Superstars - Presented by: Beaumont Childrens Museum ***Riverside Pavilion***

July 19th - Gator Country - ***Riverside Pavilion***

July 26th - Summer Program Carnival - 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Purpose: 

To encourage students to read throughout the summer in order to maintain and increase reading skills they have developed during the school year.

To attend: 

Be an area student going into grades 1st through 6th.

How to participate: 

Read whatever you would like to read at your own pace.  No book reports are required. Upon registration, you will receive a book bag and a reading log to record how much time you read or someone reads to you.  Turn in your reading log on July 20 and receive Library Bucks to spend at the Library Store.  

Library cards are free to City of Orange residents.  Non-residents may purchase a student card for $5.00. 

*Due to limited seating, only students will be allowed inside the meeting room for each program, except the Library Carnival.  Parents are required to remain inside the Library for the duration of the program.
