[ARCHIVED] Orange County Project - Public Open Houses Scheduled for April 2022

The Orange County Project, a component of the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay Program (S2G Program), will host a series of public open houses in April 2022 to provide the public with information about project progress.

The Orange County Project is one of three projects included in the S2G Program.  The Orange County Project will consist of a new levee system, including multiple pump stations, which aims to reduce the risk of storm surge impacting coastal communities such as Bridge City, West Orange, Orange, and various unincorporated areas of Orange County.  The project is being designed to reduce the risk of flooding from a storm surge, while not inducing adverse impacts to area residents and businesses.

The Orange County Project is a partnership of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and its non-Federal sponsor, the Gulf Coast Protection District (GCPD).  Orange County and the Orange County Drainage District are actively engaged with USACE andt he GCPD in coordinating the project design.
