[ARCHIVED] Hurricane Readiness

Hurricane Season

The City of Orange Office of Emergency Management would like to encourage residents to be proactive during peak hurricane season and stay prepared.

In the event there is a need to evacuate, you should know the evacuation route and establish a safe location where you may ride out the storm should the need arise. Have a plan in place for your pets – food, water, and shelter.  Do not leave your pets locked in your home or to fend for themselves. Ensure you have enough medication to last one weeks’ time. Prepare a basic evacuation kit by following tips at https://www.ready.gov/kit..

Should you need assistance evacuating, please register annually through 211.  In the event of an evacuation, an embarkation station will be available at Lamar State College Orange at the corner of 4th Street and Green Avenue.
