Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Orange Public Library, Inc. is a local volunteer organization dedicated to fostering a love of reading and supporting the needs of the Orange Public Library.
Overview
Founded in 1953 and incorporated in 1979, the Friends continue to bring the community together through engaging programs and projects. From sponsoring the popular Summer Reading Programs and Scholastic Book Fair to hosting the fan-favorite Mini Golf at the Library, they create opportunities for learning, connection, and fun! They also provide a public color copier, making library resources available for community use.
Meetings
The Friends Board meets once a month to plan special programs and projects and to decide how best to use funds to support the library and its patrons. Meetings are open to all—no library card required—and offer a wonderful way to get involved, meet new people, and make a difference in the community.
Annual Meeting
Guests are invited to attend the annual meeting of The Friends of the Orange Public Library, Inc., taking place on Saturday, November 15th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ira Williamson Meeting Room at the Orange Public Library. The gathering will feature:
π Brief business meeting
π AAUW presentation of the "Library Family of the Year" award
π Special guest Rebekah Spell, author of “The Adventures of J-Man: The First Day of School”
This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with our library community, learn more about the Friends organization, and celebrate our shared love of learning and literature. Light refreshments will be served, and all visitors are welcome to join us!
